Join me for an immersive Weathered Wood Watercolor Workshop, held every Saturday in April from 1 to 4 PM at The Artist Nook in Stuart, Florida. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist, this workshop is designed to help you master the unique textures and tones of weathered wood—no drawing skills required!

What You'll Learn:

  • Color Mixing & Granulation: Understand how to blend colors and use granulating pigments to achieve authentic weathered wood tones.

  • Layering for Depth: Build rich textures through layering techniques.

  • Experimental Techniques & Tools: Explore various tools to create realistic effects.

  • Interpret & Paint Wood: Learn to see and translate wood’s natural patterns into watercolor.

Workshop Format:

Each session is three hours long, and you can sign up for the entire four-class series or individual classes based on your schedule.

Class Schedule:

Day 1: Orientation

  • Introduction to tools and materials (use mine or bring your own!)

  • Understanding colors, granulation, and essential watercolor terms

Day 2: Small Studies & Techniques

  • Hands-on practice with key techniques to create texture and depth

  • Experiment with different tools and approaches

Day 3: Step-by-Step Wood Paintings

  • Follow along as we paint wood textures together

  • Voluntary critique for constructive feedback

Day 4: Your Own Weathered Wood Painting

  • Bring your own reference photo or choose from provided images

  • Create your own unique piece with guidance and support
